LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team put together one of their best overall performances of the season on Senior Night as the Cowgirls defeated Chadron State 79-62 on Saturday at Wilson Complex.

The Cowgirls (4-23 overall, 3-18 RMAC) outscored the Eagles (4-23, 3-18) in each quarter – including using a 23-12 advantage in the third quarter turn a five-point, halftime lead into a 16-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Down to six players due to injuries, it was a balanced effort for the Cowgirls – led by
Jordyn Lewis' 24 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. The two NMHU seniors –
Allyah George and
Amari Terry – also stepped up in their final home game as a Cowgirl. George finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals while Terry tied a career high with 19 points to go along with four rebounds, four steals and two assists.
Kish Chandler just missed double figures with nine points, four assists and three rebounds while
DeAvion Allen had six points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
The Cowgirls shot 41.7 percent from the field in the contest, including hitting a season high in 3-pointers by going 12-for-29. Defensively, NMHU held Chadron State to 39.4 percent from the field.
