NMHU, ENMU to renew football series in 2020

LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- It's a return of an in-state football matchup as New Mexico Highlands and Eastern New Mexico have agreed to play for what will be the first time in five years in 2020 at ENMU's Greyhound Stadium in Portales.

The Cowboys will travel to take on the Greyhounds in Portales on Sept. 5, 2020 – the teams' first meeting since Sept. 3, 2015 (a 40-10 ENMU win at Blackwater Draw outside of Portales). This will be NMHU's first meeting with ENMU at its new Greyhound Stadium – which opened in 2016.

The teams played from 2011-15 with NMHU holding a 3-2 advantage over that stretch (winning three consecutive games from 2011-13 – including twice on the road). That stretch was the first time the teams had played since a run from 1986-2003.

The Cowboys are 13-32 overall against ENMU in a series that started in 1941 – a 13-7 NMHU win in Las Vegas.
