Jeffery Jones has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Football Offensive Player of the Week following Week Zero of the 2025 season.
Jones erupted for 227 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns (11.7 yards per carry) and scored on runs of 48 yards, one yard and 61 yards on Thursday night in Portales. His final score came with 3:19 remaining in the fourth quarter to help secure the win for NMHU, its first over Eastern New Mexico since 2013. The Cowboys are back in action this Saturday evening when they welcome Western New Mexico to Sanchez Family Stadium for the 2025 edition of La Batalla Bowl. Kick off is at 6:00 pm.
