Brookfield, Illinois - New Mexico Highlands landed a pair of football players on the 2025 Don Hansen Division II All-America team that was released this week by the Don Hansen Football Committee.
Jeffery Jones was named 2nd Team All-American while
Trevor Romaldo was an Honorable Mention selection.
Jones was named the 2025 RMAC Offensive Freshman of the Year and 1st Team All-RMAC Running Back last month. He set the NCAA II Freshman Single Game Rushing record with 385 yards against Western New Mexico on September 6th of this season Jones finished the regular season ranked second among all Division II runners with 172.3 rushing yards per game and led all Division II backs with 10.77 yards per carry, was second with 1,723 total rushing yards, and 13th with 15 rushing touchdowns. He finished his freshman season with the seventh-most rushing yards in a single season in RMAC history. Jones set New Mexico Highlands school records in single season rushing yards (1,722) and yards per carry (10.8).
Romaldo appeared in all 11 games for the Cowboys this season and led the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and was second in NCAA II with seven interceptions. He ended the season with 45 tackles, two tackles for loss, and three pass break ups.

Kurt Taufa'asau, New Mexico Highlands posted a 6-5 record in 2025, marking the program's most wins in a season since 2012, when the Cowboys finished with eight victories.
