Women's Volleyball take on SD Mines, Black Hills State

 
Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls will travel to South Dakota where they will take on South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, SD at 7 pm on Friday and Black Hills State in Spearfish, SD at 5:30 pm on Saturday.

ABOUT SD SCHOOL OF MINES: The Hardrockers are 5-6 on the season and 1-1 in RMAC play after they lost their last match to Dixie State. The Hardrockers are averaging 12.5 kills per set as Dana Thomson leads the team in kills with 180. Libero Anna Thomas currently leads the RMAC in digs per set with 5.59 on 249 digs.

ABOUT BLACK HILLS STATE: The Yellow Jackets will start the weekend 3-7 on the season and 1-1 in RMAC play. Madee Hoopman leads the Yellow Jackets in kills, averaging 2.61 per set with 99 kills on the season. Laurel Lech has recorded 194 assists, 111 digs, and 55 kills this season, and Tess Thomas has tallied 125 assists. Haedyn Rhoades leads the Yellow Jackets, defensively, with 167 digs, and Peyton Bodemann leads the team with 28 blocks.

ABOUT THE COWGIRLS: The Cowgirls are 1-9 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. The Cowgirls are hitting .079 as a team and have 276 kills on the season, while opposing teams are hitting .244. Keegan Lopez (73 kills, 74 digs, 11 blocks), Taley Ferrari (19 blocks, 36 kills), Bryanna Lopez (130 digs, 8 service aces), and Stacy Johnson (15 blocks, 25 kills) will look to give the Cowgirls their first RMAC win of the season.
