Women's Volleyball takes on CSU-Pueblo

Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls volleyball team will host Colorado State-Pueblo on Tuesday October 1^st at 7 pm at the Wilson Complex in Las Vegas, NM.

ABOUT THE COWGIRLS: The Cowgirls (1-11, 0-4 RMAC) have a quick turn-around as they traveled to South Dakota. The Cowgirls have racked up 379 kills on the season and are averaging 9.0 kills per set. Defensively, the Cowgirls are starting to improve as they have 59 total blocks on the season and average 1.4 per set.

The Cowgirls are led by sophomore outside hitter Keegan Lopez, who has 93 kills on the season. Junior outside hitter Sierra Foley has seemed to have found her flow on offense as she led the Cowgirls in kills with 31 over the weekend. Foley has 28 digs, 77 kills and 7 blocks for the Cowgirls on the season. Samantha Sjogren led the Cowgirls in assists over the weekend with 44 and has 130 on the season. Celina Naranjo also aided Sjogren with 40 assists on the weekend and has 153 on the season.

ABOUT THE THUNDERWOLVES: The Thunderwolves (4-8, 2-2 RMAC) come in to the match ranked 11 in the RMAC. The Thunderwolves have tallied 582 kills on the season, averaging 11.9 per set and also average 2.1 blocks per set. The Thunderwolves are led by Brooke Schilling (123 digs, and 19 blocks), who has 119 kills on the season. Maddy Wisniewski (91 kills, 23 blocks), Sarah Vang (85 kills, 15 blocks), Jazzy Espinoza (46 blocks, 31 digs), and Kyle Meltzer (197 digs) all look to help the Thunderwolves.
