NMHUÂ hit the road and split over the weekend, taking care of business Friday against Chadron State 3-1 (26-24, 14-25, 25-23, 25-14) behind 13 kills from
Lisi Langi and 44 assists from
Soleil Gandara before falling at sixth-ranked Colorado School of Mines 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-20) on Saturday in Golden.
Langi leads the Cowgirls and sits just outside the top 10 in kills per set in the RMAC at 2.90 (she's 11th in the conference)Â and is followed on the team by
Terayah Stukes at 2.41 and
Keegan Lopez at 2.33. Gandara leads the team at 10.2 assists per set,
Stacy Johnson has a team-best 16 aces, Angellina Oliver sits at 60 blocks to lead the Cowgirls while
Elena Rivera has a team-best 4.29 digs per set.
ADAMS STATE HEADING INTO THE WEEKÂ |Â 2021 SEASON STATS
The Grizzlies have dropped five matches in a row since starting RMAC play 3-0 - including falling at No. 6 Mines 3-0Â (25-10, 25-22, 25-21) on Friday and a dropping a five setter to Chadron State on Saturday (14-25, 25-23, 25-23, 14-25, 15-13).
Sai Collins (2.37), Shannon Mulkey (2.23) and Riley Rabedeaux (2.22) lead Adams State in kills per set while Bailey Schlosser (6.61 assists per game) and Madeleine Benally (5.86 apg) shoulder the setting duties. Aileen Bugas has a team-best 11 aces, Sierra Leone Sanchez leads the Grizzlies at 2.88 digs per set while Mulkey has a team-best 54 blocks.
