PUEBLO, Colo. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's soccer team lost to CSU Pueblo 7-2 on Sunday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
The Cowgirls (1-10, 1-8) fell behind 3-0 in the first half and eventually trailed 5-0 to the ThunderWolves (8-5-1, 7-1-1) before a goal by
Kiarra Hovis in the 79th minute and another by Valerie Baca in the 84th minute (assisted by Hovis) made it 5-2. But CSU Pueblo scored twice more in the final four minutes to make the final 7-2.
NMHU was outshot 15-5 - including 12-4 on shots on goal.
The Cowgirls return to action Friday when they host Colorado Mesa.
