LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands men's basketball team opens RMAC play by putting its five-game win streak on the line as the Cowboys travel to take on Adams State on Friday and CSU Pueblo on Saturday.

COWBOYS HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021-22 STATISTICS
The Cowboys extended their win streak to five games on Saturday with a 91-84 victory over Northern New Mexico at home - led by 24 points from Sammy Barnes-Thompkins.

Desmond Carpenter leads the team in scoring at 17.3 points per game to go along with a team-best 2.8 assists and 3.3 steals. Ja' Vary Christmas is second on the team at 16.7 points per game as well as 2.3 assists, Marcus Brown is third on the team in scoring (15.2) while averaging 2.2 steals per game and Barnes-Thompkins is fourth on the team at 11.7 points per game. Bryce Sanchious leads the team in rebounding at 5.8 boards per game.

The Cowboys continue to be one of the top scoring teams in the nation as they are third in the nation and fifrst in teh conference at 98.0 points per game. Their pressing style has them 14th in the nation and first in the RMAC at 19.0 turnovers per game and 20th in the country and first in the RMAC in turnover margin at plus 5.8.

ADAMS STATE HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021-22 STATISTICS
The Grizzlies won their third and fourth game in a row last weekend in Puerto Rico, defeating University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras 67-63 on Friday and Universidad Del Sagrado Corazon 81-68 on Saturday.

Rylan O'Brien leads the team in scoring at 15.5 points per game and is followed by Kaelin Crane (14.0), Hayden Meakes (10.7), Nykolas Lange (10.5) and Jordan Notch (10.5). Notch leads the team in rebounding (5.8), Lange leads the team in assists (2.7) and O'Brien leads the team in steals (1.5).

The Grizzlies have also been a strong offensive team - ranking second in the RMAC behind the Cowboys and 13th in the nation in scoring at 93.2 points per game while ranking third in the country in field goal percentage (56.1 percent).

CSU PUEBLO HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021-22 STATISTICS
The ThunderWolves went 1-1 at their Thanksgiving Classic, losing to Texas A&M International 61-39 on Friday and beating Kansas Christian 84-76 on Saturday.

Lian Ramiro leads the team in scoring at 13.5 points per game - connecting on 42.1 percent (16-for-38_ of his 3-point attempts. He also leads the team in assists at 3.8 per game. Elijah Moleon is averaging a double-double at 13 points and 10.8 rebounds per game while leading the team with 1.7 blocks per game. Micah Lamberth is averaging 11.5 points per game, Meekness Payne is at 10.8 points per game and Tristan Hurdle is averaging 10.7 points per contest.
