ALAMOSA, Colo. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team dropped its RMAC opener 80-43 to Adams State on Friday at Plachy Hall.
The Cowgirls (3-4, 0-1) struggled from the field, shooting 24.1 percent from the field - including 2-for-20 from 3-point range. NMHU also committed 22 turnovers, leading to 27 points for the Grizzlies (3-3, 1-0).
Jordyn Lewis led the Cowgirls with 11 points to go alogn with five rebounds.
Sana'a Baker added eight points before fouling out.
NMHU returns to action Saturday at CSU Pueblo.
