The jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in game one after three walks from starting pitcher Samantha Gamboa (Fr; Albuquerque, NM) forced NMHU Head Coach Kevin Jannusch to make a quick pitching change.

The ThunderWolves held the Cowgirls scoreless for three innings while adding ten runs to their lead before the Cowgirls got on the board with a lead-off solo home run from Camrynn Ziegler (Jr; El Paso, TX), her 5th in the season. The ThunderWolves would hold on to take game one 12-1.
