GUNNISON, Colo. --- The New Mexico Highlands wrestling team went 0-2 at the Tracy Borah Duals on Saturday while having two wrestlers place in the top six at the Western Colorado Open on Friday - both events happening in Gunnison.
The Cowboys lost to the University of Mary 47-3 to open the Tracy Borah Duals with Jonathon Trujillo at 149 pounds picking up the team's lone points - a 7-3 victory over Trevor Fauver.
NMHU then took on host Western Colorado in a non-RMAC, falling to the Mountaineers 30-20.
Naythan Galbiso picked up a major decision 11-2 win over Binyam Barila at 125 pounds, Trujillo pinned Jacob McCarley in 3:45,
Evan Killgore pinned Western's Walker Heckendorf in 2:18 at 157 and
Lance Killgore picked upa Ā 13-3 major decision over Cole Gray at 184 pounds.
During the Western Colorado Open on Friday,
Jayden Johnson went 3-2 at 197 pounds to take fifth, including winning his final three matches of the day - capped with a pin ov Jody VanDunk of Air Force Prep.
Hunter Medina took sixth at 165 pounds, going 1-3 overall.
The Cowboys next compete at Chadron State on Friday in an RMAC dual.
