Cowboy wrestling falls to Colorado Mesa

LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands wrestling team lost to No. 14 Colorado Mesa 38-6 on Thursday night at Wilson Complex.

The Cowboys (3-8 overall, 0-4 RMAC) picked up three points at 149 pounds as Jonathan Trujillo defeated CMU's (9-2, 4-0) Nick Gallegos 7-4 after picking up two takedowns in the opening period.

NMHU grabbed its other three points at heavyweight at Julian Sanchez defeated Kash Anderson 10-4 - pulling away with three points in the final period.

The Cowboys will look to bounce back Friday night as they host No. 20 Western Colorado.
