LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's basketball team lost to Colorado Mesa 82-53 Tuesday night at Wilson Complex.
The Cowgirls (5-17, 2-14) trailed the Mavericks (17-4, 12-4) by just four after one before being outscored 26-11 in the second quarter to trail 43-24 at the break.
Sana'a Baker led NMHU with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Maiah Rivas had eight points and four assists while
Awreona Ransom had seven points.
The Cowgirls return to action Friday at home against Chadron State before hosting Black Hills State on Saturday.
