LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands wrestling team defeated CSU Pueblo 25-21 Wednesday night at Wilson Complex.
The Cowboys jumped out to a 9-0 advantage after getting a forfeit at 125 pounds and
Isaac Garcia pick up a 5-3 win at 133 pounds.
After the ThunderWolves picked up six wins with a fall at 141 pounds,
Jonathan Trujillo edged Gavin Melendez at 149 pounds 4-3 and
Evan Killgore picked up a major decision win 11-1 at 157 to give the Cowboys a 16-6 lead.
The team traded falls with
Allen Michel getting one at 174 pounds for the Cowboys to make it 22-12 before CSU Pueblo got a win at 184 pounds and a forfeit win at 197 to make it 22-21 heading into heavyweight.
Luke Allan stepped up for the Cowboys and picked up a 10-3 victory to secure the win for NMHU.
