LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands baseball team dropped the series finale to 10th-ranked Colorado Mesa 18-3 on Sunday at Brandt Field.
Colorado Mesa (31-9 overall, 18-6 RMAC) scored a run in seven of the first eight innings to pull away from the Cowboys (15-31, 10-18).
Joe Kuhn led NMHUÂ at the plate, going 3-for-4 (all singles) while
Brandon Baier hit a two-run homer for the Cowboys.
Hunter Waugh got the loss, going 5.1 innings and giving up 13 runs (eight earned) on 13 hits with a strikeout and three walks.
NMHU is off until wrapping up the season at Adams State May 6-7 in Alamosa.
