Las Vegas, NM – The Cowboys have first win of the year and beat RMAC rival Fort Lewis at home.
Saturday 09.17.22 at The Sanchez Family Stadium
1:00pm — Homecoming weekend was a success for the Cowboys and so many alums and fans alike. The Cowboys beat the rival Skyhawks at home 27-3 lead by a trio of running backs and 243 yards on the ground and 3 scores from
Shawntay Mills.
Aggressive play calling for the Cowboys after Timeouts and halftime showed the growth of a young team lead by first year head coach
Ron Hudson, who today notched his first collegiate win as a head coach.
1-0 RMAC -
"I think a lot of it is that we're still meshing. We're still getting to know each other. We almost started from scratch in training camp. Getting a chance to talk about the next plays gives them some confidence. It allows them to play fast. This is the second game in a row we went out and got a Touch down on our first drive. I think the confidence we get from then when talking to us is important. - Coach Husdon.
Watch out RMAC — The Cowboys are 1 and 0 and Coach Hudson celebrated his teams win with a special moment with this partner. He wants that feeling over and over again.
I'm going to celebrate this one with a soda pop and a night with my lady.
Backup steps up —
Michael Jackson made his first collegiate start today and was victorious.
Ezekiel Payne was cleared, but Jackson took the reps in practice this week and was able to go.
