Cowgirls Win Nailbiter

Las Vegas, NM- It was a very intense and exciting game in Las Vegas, NM on Saturday evening. The Thunderwolves had one last shot to tie the game while down three. That attempt was blocked by Krystina Hagood who made a great closeout on the shooter.  Defense turn to offense was the primary trend of the evening for the Highlands Cowgirls. In a tense well played game against conference opponent CSU Pueblo, the Cowgirls relied on defensive rebounds and efficient shots. Outrebounding the Thunderwolves 41-24 allowed Highlands to keep this game within reach. Juliana Aragon was the primary force on offense cashing in 28 points on 53% from the field. Krystina Hagood and Delani Harris were the most responsible for the domination on the boards. Hagood bringing in 15 rebounds followed by Harris's 10 rebounds showed dominance. Their efforts sparked a plethora of scoring opportunities for the Cowgirls. Delani Harris brought a contagious effort to this game with her highly energetic, aggressive, and disruptive defensive play. With a smile on her face for much of the game, her contagious energy was pumping life into her teammates. This was a very impressive win for the Cowgirls and is important for the RMAC standings moving forward. Even with Pueblo putting up 18 more three pointers than NMHU they still were not able to score more than the Cowgirls.

Western Colorado Comes to Town- The Cowgirls return to the floor on Friday, January 13th to take on another conference opponent Western Colorado.
