Cowgirls Fall to UCCS Despite Second Half Push

Colorado Springs, CO- The Cowgirls faced a tough Colorado Springs team Friday night. UCCS ranks first in the conference in opponent 3 point shooting. This showed on Friday as the Cowgirls struggled from deep. Shooting 2-16 from the field HIghlands was outmatched by Colorado Springs who shot 9-21. The Cowgirls  faced a halftime deficit that was tough to escape. Kendall Parker was aggressive offensively as she was 5-7 from the field at halftime, leading the Cowgirls in scoring. Parker also finished the game as Highlands top scorer. The Cowgirls showed resiliency and came out strong during the second half by outscoring UCCS 30-28 in the final two quarters. Krystina Hagood who brought in 11 rebounds, has continued to crash the boards for the Cowgirls despite the team being outrebounded 53-41. When looking at the Box score the two things that stand out the most are the differences in three point shooting and rebounds. The Cowgirls finished the game strong which is often more important than starting the game strong.

Cowgirls Take on Regis- NMHU looks to pickup the where they left off on Saturday @ Regis at 5pm. Regis is coming off a victory vs CSU Pueblo. The Cowgirls have a great chance to end the weekend on a positive note.
