Cowgirls Finish First Road Trip of 2023

1.7.23---Cowgirls finish up weekend games in loss to Colorado Mines.
Golden, CO- Going into this game it was understood that it would take the best performance the Cowgirls had to knock off the Orediggers, who rank first in the RMAC. The Cowgirls knew that the entire team needed to contribute if they wanted to stick around against a powerhouse like Mines. The Cowgirls impressively did not have a single player on the roster who did not record a point. Although the entire roster found a way to get on the stat sheet, it was not enough to bring home a victory. The Orediggers had four players in double figures and had five players connect from deep. This game was dependent on efficiency as Mines was 48% from the field and 35% from three compared to Highlands shooting 29% from the field and 21% from three. On a positive note, New Mexico Highlands brought down 13 offensive rebounds and 41 rebounds total. Some shots will fall, and some shots won't fall, but it is essential that rebounds are a priority. Neysa Munguia led Highlands in rebounds with nine rebounds. Krystina Hagood led all scorers with 15 points while also bringing in eight rebounds.  Weekday Battle---The Cowgirls head back home to take on CSU Pueblo in a conference showdown at the John A. Wilson Complex. CSU is coming off a loss to MSU Denver on Saturday the 7th.
