Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team is on the road for a pair of conference matches this weekend. The road trip begins on Saturday evening with a 5:00 pm match at Fort Lewis College in Durango. On Sunday, the Cowgirls travel to Gunnison for a 5:00 pm match with Western Colorado University.
Saturday will be the second meeting of the season between Fort Lewis and the Cowgirls. The two teams played in the inaugural RMAC Regional Pod at the end of September with the Skyhawks defeating NMHU 3-0. Saturday's match is the 55th all time meeting between the long time rivals with Fort Lewis holding a 30-24 edge in the series. The Skyhawks enter the match with an overall record of 8-9 and 3-4 in conference play.
SUnday's match marks the first meeting of the season between the Cowgirls and Western Colorado. NMHU defeated the Mountaineers 3-1 last season in Gunnison. Western Colorado is 3-14 overall and 1-6 in RMAC play this season.
