Las Vegas, New Mexico - CSU-Pueblo defeated New Mexico Highlands 4-1 on Senior Day on a chilly afternoon at Sanchez Family Stadium. The loss makes the Cowgirls record 0-13-2 and 0-10-1 in the RMAC. The ThunderWolves improve to 7-3-6 overall and 5-2-4 in the Conference.
CSU-Pueblo notched three first half goals to lead the match 3-0 at the half.
Isavel Glenn scored the first goal of her NMHU career off an assist from
Grace Bonzoumet for the Cowgirls right out of the halftime break to pull NMHU within 3-1. CSU-Pueblo then scored late in the half to secure the final margin.
Peyton Greener was credited with 11 saves on Sunday afternoon.
As part of the day's events, NMHU honored five players,
Giselle Pinal,
Manon Da Fonseca,
Melissa Olivares,
Jennifer Mueller, and
Mia Ortiz, who played the final home match of their career.
The Cowgirls will close out the 2023 campaign on Wednesday afternoon at Adams State University. Match time in Alamosa is 3:00 pm.
