Las Vegas, New Mexico ā The first weekend of December marks the start of conference play around the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the New Mexico Highlands men's basketball teams welcomes Colorado Christian and Chadron State to the Wilson Complex to get things started.
Colorado Christian enters Friday's game with a record or 3-2 on the season. Junior Noah Kon is averaging 17.4 points per game through five games for CCU while Bradley Land leads the way with 5.4 rebounds per outing. As a team, the Cougars average 89 points per game. The Cowboys swept Colorado Christian last season winning in Lakewood 73-62 in December and 79-63 in Las Vegas in February.
Chadron State is 2-3 on the season and play at CSU-Pueblo on Friday before coming to Las Vegas to face the Cowboys on Saturday. Senior Bryce Latimer is scoring at an impressive 23.2 points per game for the Eagles. Senior Josh Robinson leads Chadron State with 9.2 rebounds per outing. Through five games this season the Eagles average nearly 90 points per game. Chadron State swept the season series from the Cowboys a year ago.
The Cowboys are 3-2 through five games this year including a win over nationally ranked Angelo State.
Ezichi Kalu is averaging 10.3 points and 8.8 rebound per game for NMHU while
AC Curry is also scoring in double-figures at 10.0 per outing.
