Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team heads out on the road this weekend to close out the 2023 season. The Cowgirls play at Colorado Christian in Lakewood on Friday at 6:00 pm and then close out the season at Chadron State on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
Colorado Christian enters Friday's contest at 11-14 overall and 6-7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Cougars are among a handful of teams battling for the final spot in the upcoming RMAC postseason tournament entering into the final weekend of play. Friday's match marks the 23rd all-time meeting between NMHU and Colorado Christian, with the Cougars holding a 15-7 edge in the previous meetings.
Chadron State is 14-11 overall and 7-6 in conference play. The Eagles sit in sixth place in the RMAC heading into the final weekend of the regular season. Looking back at the last ten matches in the series, the Eagles hold a 6-4 lead. NMHU and Chadron met on October 27th in Alamosa as part of the RMAC Pod Play weekend with the Eagles winning 3-0.
