Day 1: Cowgirls Split With Yellow Jackets

Harold K. Brandt Field - The Cowgirls split games with the Yellow Jackets on Saturday afternoon. In game the the Cowgirls found themselves trailing 2-3 heading into the 7th. That was until Arianna Ramirez sent off a rocket triple that gave the cowgirls two scored giving them a 4-3 lead. Following the triple, Ramirez went on to close out the victory by earning 3 outs.

In Game 2 another competitive completion took place. The Cowgirls feed off each other's momentum and it was much harder for the Cowgirls to get themselves on base after the second inning this game. The Cowgirls only registered 6 hits and 3 of those came from Megan Gutierrez. The Cowgirls and Yellow Jackets both totaled the same number of hits, however the Yellow Jackets were able to make it to home plate more often.

Las Vegas, NM- Expect the Cowgirls to swing with hotter bats tomorrow as they take on Black Hills in another doubleheader. More familiarity with the opposing pitchers should allow more points to be put on the board for the Cowgirls.
