Game Recap: Baseball | | Isaiah Johnson

Cowboys Swept By Mines Day 1

Game 1- The Cowboys baseball came into Saturday's matchup knowing they were coming against a very good Mines team. Mines wasted no time getting started in this contest as they rocketed the score up to 9-0 in the first inning. In a game that could have gotten very ugly, the Cowboys stopped the bleeding and prevented Mines from scoring another run until the 5th inning. Mines began getting back into Rythm during the 5th inning and continued scoring 6 more runs before the match ended. The Cowboys got on board off a single by Pacheco and a single by Dunagan giving the Cowboys 3 runs.

Game 2- The Cowboys did a better job of containing Mines early, but that did not last long. When the Orediggers got going they did not stop as they poured on 16 in just 3 innings. This game was stopped in the 6th inning as the Cowboys were struggling to get point production.

On The Road - Tomorrow another double header between the Cowboys and the Orediggers will take place. Expect the Cowboys to try and keep this game competitive against a very good offensive Colorado Mines squad.
