Cowboys fall at Home in Doubleheader against Metro

The Metro State University of Denver Roadrunners swept the doubleheader against the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys, winning the first game 22-7 and the second game 13-5.

In the first game, the Roadrunners' offense exploded for 22 runs, with multiple players contributing to the scoring. The Cowboys struggled to keep up with the Roadrunners, with their pitching and defense unable to contain the high-powered offense. Despite scoring 7 runs, the Cowboys were unable to mount a comeback and ultimately fell to the Roadrunners in a lopsided game.

The second game was a closer contest, with both teams putting up a good fight. However, the Roadrunners' offense once again proved to be too much for the Cowboys to handle. The Roadrunners scored 11 runs, with several players once again contributing to the scoring. The Cowboys were unable to keep pace with the Roadrunners, scoring 5 runs in the game.

Despite the losses, the Cowboys fought until the final out. The Roadrunners' pitching and offense proved to be the difference, with pitcher, Andrew Hays, earning the win in the second game, allowing 5 earned runs on 9 hits and striking out 2 batters.

Overall, it was a tough day for the Cowboys, as the Roadrunners proved to be a formidable opponent. The Cowboys will look to regroup and bounce back in their next matchup, while the Roadrunners will look to continue their winning ways as the season progresses.
