Thursday's event marks the third race of the month for the men's and women's teams after competing in the UCCS Rust Buster and Southern Stampede at Missouri Southern State University.Ā Ā
"It's a small meet, a bit of a tune-up race for the Rocky Mountain Athletic ConferenceĀ championships in three weeks and a good opportunity to showcase our squads," said Head Coach

NMHU has one final competition at UCCS on October 6th before the RMAC Championship at Denver's Washington Park on October 21st.
Thursday's Schedule:
3:00 pm Women's 5k
3:45 pm Men's 7k
Following the collegiate race, Robertson High School will host the Meadow City Invite.
Last year was the first year the event was a 7k race for the men and
John Hall established the course record at 22:53.2.Ā Ā The men's course 8k record was setĀ in 1998 by NMHU's Waylon Wade. Wade, from Aztec, NM, is the only athlete to ever break 24 minutes on the XC Jam course. Wade would go on to help the Cowboys place tenth at the NCAA national championships that year. The women's course record is also held by an Aztec athlete-- Anna Swier (Williams) who ran it 17:41 in 1999.
