Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands University volleyball team is back in action this weekend at The Wilson Complex hosting Adams State University and Fort Lewis College in a 3-day Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Regional Pod beginning Thursday evening.
NMHU will play Adams State on Thursday evening and Fort Lewis on Saturday with Adams State State and Fort Lewis playing on Friday. All matches will begin at 6:00 pm. The matches will not count towards the RMAC standings.
Pod play is new for the RMAC in 2023. The Cowgirls will return to Alamosa later next month to face Adams State and Chadron State in an RMAC Power Pod. When asked about the Pods, Head Coach
Tom Duke said, "The pods have greatly reduced our travel which is a big plus."
NMHU enters play this week having dropped matches to UCCS and Regis at home last weekend. "The team has been pushing hard every day to break through and out of our slump," commented Coach Duke.
Adams State heads to Las Vegas with an overall record of 3-9 and 2-2 in RMAC while Fort Lewis is 4-8 overall and 1-3 in conference action. NMHU fell to the Grizzlies two weeks ago in Alamosa. This is the first meeting in 2023 between the Cowgirls and Skyhawks.
All three matches can be seen through the
RMAC Network and live statistics will be available.
