Cowboys Host Pair Of RMAC Contests This Weekend

Las Vegas, New Mexico - After splitting road games at Westminster and Colorado Mesa last weekend, the Cowboys return home to face MSU-Denver and Colorado Mines.

MSU-Denver is 9-3 overall and 3-3 in the RMAC. The Roadrunners have four players scoring in double figures led by sophomore Brayden Maldonado who averages 18.3 points per game. Senior Mario Lacy leads the team in rebounding at 9.2 per game. As a team, MSU-Denver is scoring 80.3 per game while allowing 72.8. These two teams have split the last ten meetings dating back to the 2015-16 season.

The Colorado School of Mines, ranked 23rd in the most recent NABC Division II poll, begins the weekend with an overall record of 12-3 and a 6-1 mark in conference play. Senior Majok Deng leads the Orediggers in scoring at 15.7 points per game. Alex Romack is averaging 7.9 rebounds per game to pace Colorado Mines. Saturday marks the 81st all time meeting between the two teams with the Orediggers holding a 47-33 edge in the series history.

The Cowboys enter the weekend at 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the RMAC. A trio of players, Kenard Richardson (10.6), Kyrie Thomas (10.5),and AC Curry (10.3) are scoring in double-figures this season. Ezichi Kalu leads in rebounding (8.4) and blocked shots (1.2). Kalu is fourth in the RMAC in rebounds per game.

Coming up on Tuesday, the Cowboys head to Colorado for a 7:30 pm meeting with CSU-Pueblo.
