Amor Selected To Represent Australia In International Competition

Las Vegas, New Mexico - Andrew Amor has been named to the Australian Team for the 2024 FISU World University Cross Country Championships.

Amor, a three time NCAA Division II All-American, finished fifth at the Division II Championships in Joplin, Missouri in November. He was the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Runner of the Year as he captured the men's 8k in 23:58.4 in Denver this past October.

In addition to his many racing accomplishments, Amore recently earned First Team All-Academic honors from the RMAC. He is a Graduate student studying Human Performance and Sport with a 3.92 grade point average.

"Andrew has a long term goal to represent his country in the Olympics," said NMHU Head Coach Bob DeVries. "Being selected by his national federation for a world championship event is a step in that direction and recognition of his accomplishments here at Highlands University."

Amor is the only US based collegian to be selected to the Australian team.

The FISU World University Championships will be held in Muscat, Oman, February 17-18, 2024.
