New Orleans, Louisiana -The New Mexico Highlands men's cross country team, along with two individual student-athletes, earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors.
The Cowboys posted a 3.38 team GPA last semester and were one of eight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference programs recognized.
Weldon Chebon, a Human Performance and Sport major, and
James Kurui, a Business major, were among the individuals who earned All-Academic honors.
Teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, and record a team score at their respective regional championship meet, among other criteria to qualify for All-Academic distinction. Student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 30% of their respective regional championship meet, among other criteria.
