Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys used a balanced scoring attack to run past visiting Northern New Mexico 103-81 on Wednesday at NMHU's Wilson Complex. With the win the NMHU improved to 2-1 on the season.
Six Cowboys, led by senior
Kenard Richardson's 19 points, scored in double figures.
Kyrie Thomas and
Nathan Hasberry scored 15 points apiece.
KJ LaMonte added 15 points while
TJ Sanchez and
Daniel Rosenber had 12 points each.
LaMonte and
Delon McCloud both had four assists to lead the Cowboys.
Richardson led the Cowboys with five rebounds and three steals.
As a team the Cowboys shot 52.3% from the floor and a blistering 54.8% from beyond the arc. They also converted 25 NNMC turnovers into 36 points in the game. NMHU had a 32-22 edge in rebounds.
Wednesday's game was the annual Youth School Day Game presented by Quality Care.Â
