Cowgirls Home To Close Out 2024

Las Vegas, New Mexico - NMHU volleyball plays the final matches of the 2024 campaign this weekend hosting Chadron State on Friday and Colorado Christian on Saturday. Both matches are set for 6:00 pm starts. Saturday is Senior Night presented by Quality Care and the Cowgirls will recognize Jada Lawson and Angelina Burton before the match.

HEAD COACH: Meg Grose is in her first season leading the New Mexico Highlands volleyball team. She was named the new head coach in December of last year after spending the 2023 season as the Head Coach at Lawrence University. She spent time as the assistant coach at New Mexico Highlands from 2020 to 2023.

LAST WEEK: The Cowgirls dropped a pair of road matches last weekend losing at Westminster on Saturday and nationally ranked Colorado Mesa on Sunday.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION: Chadron State enters Friday's match at 5-20 overall and 1-12 in the RMAC. The Eagles lost at Colorado Christian on Wednesday evening in Lakewood before heading to historic Las Vegas for Friday's match. Jennifer Stadler is in her sixth season at Chadron State where she has a career record of 50-94. The Eagles won both meetings over NMHU last season taking a 3-0 decision in Chadron and a 3-1 victory in Alamosa from the Cowgirls.

Colorado Christian is currently 16-9 overall and 8-5 in conference play. The Cougars defeated Chadron State 3-0 on Wednesday evening in Lakewood. They do not play again before Saturday's match against the Cowgirls. Colorado Christian has already secured a spot in the RMAC Tournament and is currently the sixth seed pending the outcomes of this weekend's matches. Bobby Blanken is in his eighth season as the head coach of the Cougars where he has a 100-108 record. The Cougars defeated the Cowgirls 3-1 in Lakewood in the only meeting of 2023.

RMAC NETWORK: All of the Cowgirls remaining matches will be broadcast on the RMAC Network. Once again this season, NMHU home matches will be handled by New Mexico Broadcaster of the Year Scott Galetti.
