Las Vegas, New Mexico - The NMHU volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Colorado Christian on Saturday night to close out the 2024 campaign. The Cowgirls end the season with an overall record of 5-21 and a 2-12 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Prior to Saturday's match NMHU recognized seniors
Jada Lawson and
Angelina Burton as part of Senior Night presented by Quality Care. Both Lawson and Burton have completed their eligibility and are on track to earn their degrees this spring.
"I am so proud of the buy-in from these two, they gave their all every day this year and were a huge part of the progress we made," said Head Coach
Meg Grose. "I am going to miss those two and they will be very hard to replace."
In Saturday's match Burton led the Cowgirls with six kills and three blocks. Lawson added five kills and two blocks.
For her two year career in a NMHU uniform, Burton played in 48 matches and recorded 376 kills and 35 totals blocks. Lawson played in 52 matches and had 179 kills and 131 total blocks.
