Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys are home this Saturday for a non-conference game with CSU-Pueblo. Tip-off is set for 1:00 pm in the Wilson Complex.
The Cowboys enter play at 3-1 after edging Northern New Mexico 71-69 on Wednesday night in Española.
Kenard Richardson paced NMHU with 22 points while
KJ LaMonte added 11 points.
Entering play Saturday, four Cowboys are scoring in double digits through four games led by Richardson at 19.8 per game. Also in scoring double digits through the first four games are
Kyrie Thomas (12.5),
KJ LaMonte (12.5), and
TJ Sanchez (10.5).
Saturday's game with CSU-Pueblo marks the first of three games against RMAC foes that are non-conference games this season. NMHU hosts Western Colorado next Friday afternoon and travels to Lakewood for a game with Colorado Christian on December 19th.
The ThunderWolves head to historic Las Vegas on Saturday with a perfect 4-0 record after running past Barclay College 109-50 last night in Pueblo. Five ThunderWolves are scoring in double figures this season led by senior De'Shaun Cooper's 14.5 points per outing. Cooper also leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game. Head Coach Matt Hammer is in his sixth season at the helm of the ThunderWolves where he has a 56-79 career record.
The Cowboys dropped the only meeting of the 2023-24 season to the ThunderWolves 75-55 on January 16th in Pueblo.
