The Cowboys' smothering defense held the visiting ThunderWolves to 41% shooting from the floor and forced 14 turnovers that they converted into 25 points.
Last season the Mustangs came to historic Las Vegas and dealt the Cowboys a heart-breaking 80-79 set-back when Cortaviaus Seales drained a three point heave from near half-court as time expired.
This is the first trip to Silver City for the Cowboys since November 14, 2018, when they beat the Mustangs 70-67.
The Cowboys return home for a post-Thanksgiving contest with Western Colorado on Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
