Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands men's basketball team returns to action on Friday when they host Adams State. Tip-off in the Wilson Complex is set for 7:00 pm. The Cowboys are 8-12 overall and 5-10 in the RMAC. The Grizzlies have a record of 6-14 overall and 4-10 in the conference.
Adams State is led by Destan Williams who scores 16.3 points per game. Isaiah Sampson is the leading rebounder at 4.8 per outing. As a team the Grizzlies score 78.6 points per game and allow 82.0 per game. The two teams are 5-5 in the last ten games in the series. Adams State defeated the Cowboys 78-71 in Alamosa on December 9th.
Kenard Richardson (10.5 points per game) and
Kyrie Thomas (10.3) lead the Cowboys in scoring. Thomas had a big weekend against UCCS and Regis as he scored 40 points in the two contests.
Ezichi Kalu is fourth in the RMAC in rebounding at 7.6 per game and third in blocked shots with 1.2 per game.
Kenard Richardson is fourth in the conference with a free throw percentage of 86.5%.
The Cowboys are back on the road after Friday's game with Adams State heading to Chadron State and Colorado Christian next weekend.
