RMAC Regional Pod Play On Tap This Week For Volleyball

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The RMAC steps out of conference play this week for Regional Pod matches. The Cowgirls will play at Adams State on Tuesday at 6:00 pm and host Fort Lewis on Saturday at 3:00 pm on Saturday and neither match will count in the conference standings.

HEAD COACH: Meg Grose is in her first season leading the New Mexico Highlands volleyball team. She was named the new head coach in December of last year after spending the 2023 season as the Head Coach at Lawrence University. She spent time as the assistant coach at New Mexico Highlands from 2020 to 2023.

LAST WEEK: The Cowgirls dropped a pair of conference road matches last weekend, losing at UCCS 3-1 on Friday and 3-0 to Regis in Denver on Saturday afternoon.

Commenting after Saturday's loss Meg Grose said, "Our effort was very disappointing on Saturday afternoon, give Regis credit they came out and beat us in every phase of the game. We need to figure things out with Adams State and Fort Lewis on the schedule this week."

NMHU edged Adams State 3-2 earlier this season in a back and forth match in Las Vegas to open conference play on September 20th. Garcia Ramser is in his first season as the head coach at Adams State. The Grizzlies hold a 7-3 lead in the last ten matches played in the series. The last win in Alamosa for NMHU came on November 2, 2021.

Fort Lewis is 3-9 overall and 1-3 in the RMAC after splitting a pair of matches in Durango last weekend. The Skyhawks will play at Adams State on Friday evening before heading to Las Vegas for Saturday's match. Fort Lewis will visit NMHU for an RMAC on October 18th. Head Coach Giedre Tarnauskaite is in her fifth season leading the Skyhawks program. Fort Lewis holds an 8-2 lead in the last ten matches played in the series. The Cowgirls last beat the Skyhawks in Las Vegas on November 13, 2021.
