Cowboys Back In Las Vegas For Pair Of RMAC Games

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys play their first home games of 2025 hosting Black Hills State on Thursday at 7:00 pm and Chadron State on Saturday at 3:00 pm. NMHU is 7-7 overall and 0-6 in the RMAC.

COACH DOMINGUEZ: Mike Dominguez is in his sixth season leading the Cowboys. The Colorado Mesa product has a career record of 61-65 at NMHU. His first career win came on November 5, 2019, when he led the Cowboys to a 112-108 win over Eastern New Mexico.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Cowboys are averaging 81.4 points per game which is third best in the RMAC. Senior Kenard Richardson is the leading scorer in the RMAC at 17.4 points per game. He is fourth in the conference with 1.6 steals per game and tenth with a 49.4% field goal percentage.

Senior Kyrie Thomas is eighth in the RMAC with 2.1 three point shots made per game and 1.5 steals per game.

A trio of Cowboys are averaging double figures this season: Kenard Richardson (17.4), Blessin Kimble (11.4) and Kyrie Thomas (10.4).

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION: Black Hills State brings an overall record of 8-6 and a conference mark of 4-2 into Thursday's match-up with the Cowboys. Caelin Hearne is the Yellow Jackets leading scorer at 16.0 points per game. Cam Lowe leads BHSU with 7.4 rebounds per game. Ryan Thompson is in his seventh season at Black Hills State and has a career record of 129-60. Black Hills and NMHU will play again this season on March 1st in Spearfish.

Chadron State is 6-8 overall and 2-4 in the RMAC heading into the weekend. The Eagles play at Adams State on Thursday before heading to Las Vegas for the Saturday match up with NMHU. Bryce Latimer is the leading scorer (18.7 points per game) and Josh Robinson is the leading rebounder (8.5 per game) for Chadron State. Chris Francis is in his first season as the head coach at Chadron State. The Cowboys won both meetings with Chadron State last season winning 75-61 in December at Chadron and 90-82 in Las Vegas in February.
