Las Vegas, New Mexico - Black Hills State used a strong second half to top the Cowboys 71-56 on Thursday night. With the loss, NMHU falls to 7-8 overall and 0-7 in the RMAC.
A low scoring first half saw the visiting Yellow Jackets with a 25-23 advantage at the halftime intermission. Black Hills State outscored the Cowboys by 13 points, 46-33, in the second twenty minutes to secure the road win.
Freshman
KJ LaMonte was the Cowboys leading scorer with 11 points.
Junior
Ezzy Dawson grabbed a career high 15 rebounds and had a team high three steals. Dawson's 15 rebounds ties him for the single game high this season in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Cowboys were 20-59 from the floor and 11-17 from the free throw line.
Black Hills State out-rebounded NMHU 33-32.
