Cowboys In Mile High City For Two Games

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys are back on the road playing at nationally ranked MSU-Denver on Thursday evening and Regis on Saturday afternoon.. NMHU is 8-10 overall and 1-9 in the RMAC.

COACH DOMINGUEZ: Mike Dominguez is in his sixth season leading the Cowboys. The Colorado Mesa product has a career record of 62-68 at NMHU. His first career win came on November 5, 2019, when he led the Cowboys to a 112-108 win over Eastern New Mexico. His first RMAC victory came on December 6, 2019, when he coached NMHU to a 98-83 victory at Fort Lewis.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Cowboys are averaging 79.7 points per game which is third best in the RMAC.

Senior Kenard Richardson is second in the RMAC at 17.2 points per game. He is tied for ninth in the conference with 1.4 steals per game.

Senior Kyrie Thomas is tied for tenth in the RMAC with 2.0 three point shots made per game and tied for sixth in the conference at 1.5 steals per game.

A trio of Cowboys are averaging double figures this season: Kenard Richardson (17.2), Blessin Kimble (11.4) and KJ LaMonte (10.6).

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION: MSU-Denver enters play this week at 14-4 overall and 8-2 in conference play. The Roadrunners are ranked 23rd in this week's NCAA NABC Division II poll. Carter Brayden leads the Roadrunners in scoring at 15.3 points per game. Caleb McGill is MSU-Denver's leading rebounder at 7.8 per game. Dan Ficke is in his third season at MSU-Denver where he has a record of 45-31. Thursday's game is the only meeting of the 2024-25 season between the two teams.

Regis enters play this week at 10-8 overall and 8-2 in the RMAC. The Rangers host Adams State on Thursday night before welcoming the Cowboys to the Regis Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon. Chase Mayo Harmon is the Rangers' lead scorer at 16.3 points per outing. Trey Bryant is the leading scorer for Regis at 4.3 per game. Brady Bergson is in his 10th season where he has a record of 156-115. The Rangers defeated the Cowboys 96-85 on December 5th to open RMAC play this season.
