Gunnison, Colorado - The Cowgirls closed out their Colorado road trip by dropping a 3-0 decision at Western Colorado on Sunday afternoon. NMHU is now 1-8-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference while the Mountaineers improve to 1-9-3 overall and 1-2-3 in conference play.
NMHU brought the early pressure to Western Colorado as they were credited with the first three shots of Sunday's match. The Cowgirls, however, were unable to convert those early opportunities.
The host Mountaineers started the scoring at the 32 minute mark of the match. They carried that 1-0 lead to the halftime break.
Western Colorado added goals at 56:59 and 82:46 to put the match out of reach.
Dalma Zsigó and
Ninon Rigal led the Cowgirls with three shots apiece on Sunday.
Western Colorado had the edge in shots on goal at 14-9.
The Cowgirls are next in action this coming Friday afternoon when Colorado Mesa visits historic Las Vegas for a 1:00 pm match.
