Cowgirls Fall To Colorado School Of Mines On Friday

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls dropped a hard fought match to the Colorado School of Mines 3-0 on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Cowgirls fall to 1-13-0 overall and 0-10-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Orediggers, ranked seventh in this week's United Soccer Coaches Division II poll, improve to 11-2-2 overall and 8-1-1 in conference play.

The Orediggers took control early, scoring twice in a two-minute span — striking first 12:09 into the match before adding another goal just 1:57 later to put the game out of reach. They would add a third goal at the 28:37 mark of the first half.

NMHU generated several scoring opportunities as the first half wound down but couldn't find the back of the net.

The second half featured a combined six shots on goal, but neither team could find the back of the net as the Orediggers' first-half lead held firm.

Injuries and illness forced NMHU goalkeepers Peyton Greener and Haylee Driscoll into field positions on Friday, where they logged 45 and 26 minutes of playing time, respectively.

The Orediggers held an 18-7 edge in shots and a 9-0 margin in corner kicks.

The Cowgirls closed out the home portion of the 2025 season on Sunday afternoon when they host CSU-Pueblo in a 1:00 pm match. Sunday is Senior Day presented by Quality Care, and a trio of Cowgirls — Kate Rayner, Devyn Gunn, and Isavel Glenn — will be honored as part of the day's festivities.
