Las Vegas, New Mexico - A standing room crowd was on hand for Sunday's dual that was held at the Buffalo Hall in historic Las Vegas, as the Cowboys came up on the short end of a 24-13 decision to Colorado Mesa on Sunday afternoon. The Cowboys are now 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the RMAC on the young season while the Mavericks are now 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
Junior
Sebastian Freeman got the Cowboys on the board first when he defeated Alex Castenada at 149 pounds with a 10-1 major decision.
Ivan Smith improved to 4-0 on the season as he won his 165 pound bout by technical fall at 4:58.
Finally at 285 pounds Philip Chabot claimed a 5-4 decision to end the day.
