Silver City, New Mexico -The Cowgirls played their first road game of the season this weekend in Silver City against Western New Mexico.
The Cowgirls scored 92 points in the victory. To complete the sweep of the Mustangs this season, the Cowgirls outscored the Mustangs 198-83 over the two games.
Aniya Johnson led the Cowgirls in scoring with 19.
Kapiolani Anitielu was second in scoring with 14.
The Cowgirls shot 49.3% from the field today and 33.3% from beyond the arc. As well as 75% at the free-throw line.
Coach Fearing, following the win:
"Glad we fought through the adversity we had with the long bus ride here. Starting to put a full game together and grow up. Proud of them. HOW ABOUT THEM COWGIRLS!!!"
UP NEXT: The Cowgirls are back in action next weekend. The Cowgirls will then travel to the West Texas Thanksgiving Classic in Canyon City, Texas, on the campus of West Texas.
