Cowboys Ready For Adams State And Fort Lewis This Week

Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys have a pair of games on tap this week as they travel to Adams State for a Thursday night game before hosting Fort Lewis on Saturday afternoon. NMHU is 8-12 overall and 1-11 in the RMAC.

COACH DOMINGUEZ: Mike Dominguez is in his sixth season leading the Cowboys. The Colorado Mesa product has a career record of 62-68 at NMHU. His first career win came on November 5, 2019, when he led the Cowboys to a 112-108 win over Eastern New Mexico. His first RMAC victory came on December 6, 2019, when he coached NMHU to a 98-83 victory at Fort Lewis.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Cowboys are averaging 78.4 points per game which is fifth best in the RMAC.

Senior Kenard Richardson is second in the RMAC at 17.4 points per game. He is tied for fifth in the conference with 1.5 steals per game.

Senior Kyrie Thomas is ninth in the conference at 1.4 steals per game.

Three Cowboys are averaging double figures this season: Kenard Richardson (17.4), Blessin Kimble (11.3) and KJ LaMonte (10.4).

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION: Adams State is 8-13 overall and 3-10 in the RMAC. Junior Jude Tapia is the leading scorer for Adams State at 15.8 points per game while Luke Williams is the leading rebounder at 5.2 per game. Kenny Tripp is the head coach at Adams State where he has a 16-33 mark in two seasons. The Grizzlies topped the Cowboys 96-83 on December 14th in Las Vegas.

Fort Lewis is 15-7 overall and 9-4 in conference play after beating Adams State 102-81 on Tuesday in Durango. Biko Johnson leads the Skyhawks in scoring at 17.4 points per game while Chuol Deng is the leading rebounder at 7.5 per game. Jordan Mast is in his first season as the head coach at Fort Lewis. The Skyhawks edged the Cowboys 80-77 on December 10th in Durango.
