Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowboys got solid performances on the mound and timely hitting to win the series finale from Northwestern Oklahoma State 7-5 on Sunday afternoon. The win improved the Cowboys record to 3-5 overall.
After the Rangers took an early 1-0 lead in the top half of the second, the Cowboys responded with five runs in their half of the inning. Those five runs came by way of three singles, two walks and a hit batter. NMHU added single runs in the fourth and fifth inning en route to the win.

Seth Galfano, batting in the five spot, made them pay as he recorded a season high three hits in the game.
The Cowboys scored all seven runs on Sunday without the benefit of an extra base hit. Galfano,
Carlos Chavez, and
Tony Leger each recorded multi-hit games.
Jimi Welsher got the start and earned his first win of the season as he went six and third innings while allowing five runs and striking out four.
Richie Amavizca and Aiden Joyce didn't allow a run in relief. Joyce picked up his second save of the season.
Up next, the Cowboys travel to Amarillo for a four game set with Oklahoma Panhandle State beginning on Thursday afternoon. Games will be played at Hodgetown, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks AA affiliate.
