Las Vegas, New Mexico - Â Cowgirls Soccer to face Fort Hays State Thursday and Northwestern Oklahoma State Saturday for final out of conference matches.
COACH EVANS:
Amanda Evans is in her second season at the helm of Cowgirls Soccer. Entering the weekend, the Cowgirls are .500 on the season at 1-1 with their win last weekend over Sul Ross State.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Cowgirls left the Lone Star State victorious, winning a 1-0 victory over Sul Ross State on a
Lina Villanueva goal off a corner kick assist from
Mia Roybal at the 85:02 mark.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS:Â
The Cowgirls start with the Tigers of Fort Hays State in Hays, Kansas, who enter the match 1-3. Their last time out, the Tigers had a 3-0 victory over Southwest Minnesota State. The Tigers were picked to finish ninth in the MIAA preseason coaches poll. Tyson Hall enters his fourth season at the helm of the Tigers program, holding an overall record of 31-16-14 in his first three seasons at Fort Hays State. Kickoff is at 2:30 PM MST on the MIAA Network.
The Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers enter their match with the Cowgirls on Saturday with a 3-0-1 record. Their last outing ended in a tie with Black Hills State. Carla Briscoe is entering her seventh year at the helm of the Rangers program. In addition to being a coach, Briscoe is also a psychology professor at Northwestern Oklahoma State. Kickoff is at 11:00 AM MST on NWOSU TV.
