Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls held the lead into the second half.
An early goal in the 26th minute by team captain
Kate Rayner gave the Cowgirls a lead, and a strong defensive showing held Black Hills State to just five shots.
Coming out of the half, the momentum was all the Cowgirls until a breakaway one-on-one goal for the Yellow Jackets tied the game up at one a piece.
Then a penalty in the 81st minute would be the difference as the Yellow Jackets' penalty kick was scored in the bottom left of the net, making it 2-1.
That would ultimately be the final. The Cowgirls return to action against the Rangers of Regis this Sunday, September 28th, with kickoff at 1:00 PM on the RMAC network.
